Asset integrity

Geological conditions, earthquakes and/or extreme weather can have a significant impact on a company's infrastructure. The main effects:

  • Structural damage to critical infrastructure for operation.
  • Interruption of roads: Earthquakes can cause slope failures and material slides, which can cut off essential roads and access routes.
  • Risk to personnel: Rock falls and structural collapses pose a serious risk to personnel safety.
  • Plant damage: Vibration and ground movements can affect production plants.
  • Environmental contamination: These events can cause spills of hazardous materials, which can lead to soil and water contamination.

BM has a strategic alliance with NHAZCA, which currently works with more than 450 clients in 40 countries, offering the SAR satellite service of interferometry, which allows the identification of settlements or displacements with millimeter precision.

This technology not only allows the evaluation of critical assets for the company, it is also possible to evaluate land displacement due to extreme weather and/or earthquakes.

These studies do not require on-site personnel, and it is recommended to have this type of service on a quarterly basis.

Main benefits:
  •   Millimeter accuracy: ±1mm.
  •   Historical and continuous analysis: since 1992.
  •   Worldwide coverage.
Applications:
  •   Civil engineering monitoring.
  •   Mining monitoring.
  •   Oil/gas extraction and storage analysis.
  •   Geological hazard analysis.
  •   Ground displacement and precursor analysis.
  •   Slope stability assessment.
  •   Seismic displacement mapping.

Analysis since 1992 is possible, therefore, a comparative study can be carried out on the behavior of infrastructures from the point of view of settlement and/or landslide.
